Nestled in the magnificent Harz mountains, our delightful first-floor apartment offers a perfect getaway for nature lovers and relaxation seekers alike. The cozy apartment features two inviting bedrooms, connected by a fully equipped hallway kitchen, leading to a spacious living room, thus providing ample space for families or small groups. Dogs are welcome as well to join you on one of your hiking adventures. Sip your morning coffee while soaking in the serene landscape on your roof terrace overlooking the Harz mountains, or enjoy a sunset dinner under the stars, while your car is safely parked under your private carport.

The Alte Schmiedemühle is located in the mountain village of Zorge, a picturesque town with mostly half-timbered houses located in the valley of the river Zorge (which is right outside your window) with mountains on both sides of the valley. There is a local bakery and a few restaurants on walking distance and there are plenty of hiking paths starting in the village. For public transport the bus stop is only 10 meters away. And for those hot summer days the huge public village outdoor pool, filled with natural springwaters, is located literally just around the corner.

The bigger area is ideal for walking, hiking, biking and mountainbiking in all seasons. The winter ski slopes can be found in the neighboring towns of Hohegeiss, Braunlage and Sankt Andreasberg, all within a 10 to 25 minute drive.

Whether you’re hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter, our apartment is your perfect home base for adventure and relaxation. Come and experience the beauty of the Harz!

Please note that the apartment is only reachable via a metal outside staircase. If you’re coming with a dog, you might need to carry him up- and downstairs to avoid injuring his feet.
